A.D. Transport Express

Chuck, will they let me have an invertor and a refrigerator? Will they install it for me? Will they charge me for install?

Is the equipment as new as they say it is? How good are they about fixing things, expecially DOT reportable problems?

 

Their equipment is top notch. They seem to stay on top of things. From what I'd heard they are supposed to be getting something like 30 new tractors sometime in January. I don't know about an inverter, all I needed was a 450W plug-in type for my laptop. As for a fridge, I don't think there is a place to put one in the T600's sleeper configuration.

 

Chuck, did you ever have any problems with not being paid for all miles? or being shorted pay for any other reason?
Any problem getting your truck deposit back?
Have you heard any stories from other drivers about them screwing up their DAC with insufficient reasons?

 

Never had a payroll problem with them. Have not received the deposit back yet but I did still owe $90 for a company leather jacket. Plus they routinely take $150 as a cleaning fee to "sterilize" the truck before assigning it back out again. So I am owed $260, but I don't really expect it. From what I've heard second hand, they are not known to give them back very often. As long as they don't screw up my employment record, I'm willing to call it a wash I suppose.

So far they haven't screwed me over DAC-wise. I have heard of them not taking too kindly to 2 week notices and removing drivers from their trucks immediately after giving notice. And like I said before, they are not known to rehire. Once you are gone you are gone.

Waiting wife, just curious to know if your husband is still at A.D. If so, is he still happy working there? Getting enough miles? Be treated right?

 

Hello drp3636, Yes, my husband is still at A. D. He loves it there. He's getting a lot more miles than where he worked before. He goes out on a delivery and knows where he's headed next, which is more than I can say than about his previous job. He's treated real well there. His truck is well maintained. He's home almost every weekend. His other job he complained alot about sitting and waiting for hours, if not days for the next assignment. Then getting stuck sitting on the east coast for weekends that he could have been home doing things or taking his break time at home. We live about 45 - 50 minutes from the terminal and he's back based out of Michigan, not out of state. Jobs out of Michigan are hard to come by, as you well know. He wanted to get back home to work and is happy there.

 

drp3636, Are you going to go to A. D. on Tuesday? My husband was home last night and I told him about you. He said he's happy there and good luck. He was home last night due to a load he picked up in Pennsylvania and a local GM delivery this morning and was on his way to Kentucky after that. Sometimes he is home for a week night. Hello waiting wife. Thanks for asking. I decided to go with them, but when I called them back, they said I had to go back on a waiting list. That they were full for right now.
