We've had our trailers broken in once. The locks were heavy duty Master and the thieves couldn't open it, so they just cut the tabs where the lock sits.
We found the lock on the ground intact and the stuff inside ransacked. It was tupperware plastics so they were mad.
If they want in bad enough, they will get in. -
Well of course! The locks are there to keep the honest on the straight and narrow.
-
Anyone ever consider what someone could leave in an unlocked trailer ...

what about aluminum coils in a dry van? can you tell they're there?

how does the padlock protect the seal exactly? I padlock anything worth anything unless it has a bolt seal. Bolt seals are harder to cut than my padlock......

md 20/20 or colt 45, then you will have a problem..
-
Better be sure who you hit.
Someone is breaking into your trailer, you jump out and run back. You see someone walking away from your trailer.
You shoot. He dies.
Problem is, he was walking by and scared the guy and you shot him. -
Even if it is a thief you hit, if you only wound him you could loose everything you have in a lawsuit. I know it sounds jacked-up, but it happens.
