because guys were talking about turnover rate for swiftys. Was just discussing how alot of them get their cdl and go to what they think are greener pastures...this is a discussion forum on swift right? Maybe im wrong. And yes I was only talking about swift because I have never worked for anyone else and I know how high their turnover rate is.
I thought in order to lease a truck with swift you had to average 10,000 miles a month for 2 or 3 months, how could a student that just got off his/her mentors truck go and become an o/o for them?
I bet tim is a swift driver himself, seems like he spends alot of time in this discussion about them

at swift, that is going to get you nailed for flagrant overspeed. the first offense is being written up. the second offense will result in a loss of a job, and you will NOT get unemployment since you broke company policy. -
Thats not a flagrant overspeed. I do it every chance I get. Now.... go over 71 for more than a couple of seconds and see what that gets you.

One story we heard in orientation was how some 'tard coming out of the rockies into Denver wanted to see just how fast he could go. He had 44k in the box, then found a straight stretch of road with a fairly steady downhill grade, AND THEN TOOK THE TRUCK OUT OF GEAR !!! The QC told the company he was going over 85mph. He was under a load that was planned to drop in the Denver terminal. He was asked to come into the terminal, and when he did, they had him turn in his keys right there. talk about stupid. -

I met a swift driver at the rest area in Illinois last night. He'd been driving without heat for 5 days. It was 0 degrees out. He said the company refused to fix it and kept telling him to just get another load. I told him I wouldn't do it and he said he was going to put his foot down after he dropped off the load he was under.
What kind of an animal would force a driver to drive without heat in lethal temperatures? Swift dispatchers. -
