Last year you couldn't build a new house with a price lock. Builders didn't know what the cost would end up being.

I've read stories of the same situation with cars too. Car arrives and you're told it's more money.

Well at a certain point, there's a buyer's strike which puts a floor on price hikes. Unfortunately, the Federal Reserve keeps printing money and suppresing short term interest rates, which just keeps the party going.

And no, the measly rate increases they forecasted won't stop it. Volker was the last true fed chair who cracked down on wild inflation with hefty rate hikes.

And this isn't a Trump/Biden issue, its just bad overall economic policy by both parties and the Fed of continuing to inflate asset prices and paper wealth.

Why are they buying new trucks? There are 100s of empty trucks parked right now.

The driver pay increase was not a good idea after all. Price of every thing is increasing

Driver pay increases have not affected the cost of goods and services one bit. Where did you come up with that math?

Any one asking me for a price of anything 6 to 12 months away would be laughed at and told. Ha, You may die before the deal culminates, and I could be rich enough by then to not even have to fool with it.

Hell my local freightliner won’t even take one truck orders. Have to order minimum of 5 trucks. Definitely weird times we’re living in.

Freightliner dealers were cut 13% from 2021 orders. The dealer i've bought from for 35 years rated their old customers and new walk in's. You're at all a PITA and they won't sell a spot.
