I think there is a small misunderstanding. There isn't any city to city, let alone customer to customer info on those quarterly MFUT - 15 IFTA reports...Maybe you are confused with IFTA Trip reports - prepared by drivers upon completion of their trips, based on which the carrier does quarterly MFUT - 15 reports. But those never leave the carrier's office. Do you file quarterly IFTA yourself? If you were to do your own IFTA, you'd know what I mean...
Never mind, though...I don't want to drill this any more than necessary. I was just curious about a reason behind this need to keep it secret as maybe I was missing something. -
Yep, I file my own returns.
I will keep you posted how the quotes go. -
Definitely cannot blame you. Be careful with any agents you use for quotes. Some are way better than others. Great West puts a lock on their agent's quotes. It screws you from shopping around but locks the agent into a stronger sale. It's cruddy to us as the consumers.

Nobody but insurance companies care where you're driving. Really they don't. If that's what they're doing, they will need more specific information, like street addresses or what you're hauling. State mileage per year doesn't tell them anything they can't figure out from other data that isn't you. Work your IFTA returns in a spreadsheet, or at least keep the final numbers in one, so they'll be useful for doing annual totals when needed for this. Or for IRP renewal and MCS-150 updates.

The difference is $440 only.
Northland is $440 cheaper than Progressive.
I don't think it's worth changing.
Is Northland the best insurance there is? And would you make a switch to save $400? -
I would definitely switch. If you were to need to file a claim you will see the difference.
RedForeman Thanks this. -
Northland > Progressive. Northland is a top tier company. Great West doesn't offer coverage in my state, so I can only point to others positive remarks.
That said, I had a major claim with Northland while covered by them in 2017. They paid promptly so that wasn't an issue. The process was awkward and they really didn't seem to be in a hurry to subrogate the claim and get my loss run zeroed back out. So I switched to another top tier company.Beaver9 Thanks this. -
Progressive used to charge me to add Additional Insureds and getting them to add a Holder if I couldn't do it myself was a major PIA. I would ditch Progressive in a heart beat if I were you.

Looking for a Great West agent now.
