seriously apply to as a many companies as you can and those you interview with be very honest with them and what you didn’t get to do with your last employer.bryan21384, Zedekiah and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
What Every Professional CDL Driver Should Know About the DAC Report.The_Great_Corn and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Don’t ever work for a Company that uses DAC again. Ask upfront about DAC. What you’ve described is common. By no means should you give up. You’ll get hired by someone. Everyone’s learned things the hard way. Whether they admit it or not. Your MVR is your record. Screw DAC.

All those so called accidents are nothing. Really nothing!! I’d be hard pressed to even mention them to a new Employer. If it weren’t for DAC, they’d be non existent. I had much worse incidents my first year. Luckily no one got hurt, No Police reports were filed, no tickets were issued. That’s all that matters. I’d hire you in a heartbeat if I needed a Driver.

You said what I wanted to.Rideandrepair and Zedekiah Thank this. -
Other companies will hire you. One or two of them might even be worth working for. Keep your CDL active. If you continue to work for a trucking company you will need to self-certify with your state every time you get a new DOT medical card. If you stop working as a CDL driver don't forget to self-certify with your state your status as using the CDL but not being required to maintain a DOT Medical card. It is NOT necessary to always have a valid DOT Medical card. It is required you have a valid DOT Medical card & self-certification before you use your CDL. Even if you decide you never want to drive a commercial vehicle don't surrender your CDL. It is far, far easier and cheaper to just self-certify in one of the categories that don't require the DOT card than it is to go through getting your CDL AGAIN in the future.

It seems a majority of new drivers have already signed away their future before they even do any research. How many times have we seen new drivers post their first message similar to "I just signed on with ABC Trucking. I begin tomorrow. I was wondering if ABC is a good company and will I have problems taking a 53 foot trailer into Manhattan?"Rideandrepair, TripleSix and Frank Speak Thank this.
