Had kinda an interesting load calves from the middle of the SD Badlands. Went through the park where trucks are prohibited. Its a pretty neat road.

Some pics of my dads trucks back in the 50’s and 60’s.
I pulled a bull rack from late 70’s into late 90’s hauling both hogs and cattle. Even sheep, but tried not to.pete781693, Swine hauler, Gatordude and 5 others Thank this. -
@woreout I really appreciate the thought and offer and if things change I will keep it in mind. After my prior effort and then the issues I ran into, I kind of gave up on the dream and let my CLP expire. Recently though I had began to think about it again. I do know that if I re-acquire a CLP before February 7, then I could effectively extend my exemption from CDL school for about a year by renewing the CLP for a second 6 month period. This window is closing soon so I have to make a decision soon.
And…@woreout, I don’t know that you can call your ride a ragamuffin. I have read enough of your posts to know you take excellent care of Lost Cause. I have also seen your truck on Presidents Island hooked up to your grain wagon.John E., Tall Mike, Crusader66 and 4 others Thank this. -
Great picture and thanks for sharing. This reminds me of the one time 4 of us Florida trucks pulled loads out of Billings, MT to various places in Illinois. We had no permits and were “slightly” heavy. Not being familiar with the area and trying to avoid the scales we elected to run down through the Indian reservation. What an adventure that turned out to be. Between being only able to run about 20 mph down the gravel roads 3 flat tires among us, and a couple of very low weight bridges, the trip was probably the longest and most unforgettable of my life.
We had already deadheaded up from the Amarillo area and were tired before the heifers were even loaded. Good times for sure.Crusader66, 99kw900 and wore out Thank this. -
Ya the reservations are something else. The lawmen don't care about trucks which is kinda nice, if your doin ten over they'll usually just flash em at ya and keep goin. Worst part about the rez is the car on the side of the road every 2 miles or less with who knows what happening. I've literally seen people kick others out of their car as theyre goin 35 down the road. I've seen natives involved in fist fights on sidewalks. Theres always lots or natives walking no matter what time of day.pete781693, wore out and Last Call Thank this.

Someday we gonna put this thing to bed.....just not today.High Stepper, larry2903, Dale thompson and 17 others Thank this. -
Lookin Good. Nothing looks sharper than a lit up cattle truck. A bright porch light and trailer sides outlined with marker lights is hard to beat. Having that Pete pulling it is icing on the cake

We talked a little about puttin one in a spot and not tearing it up.......they wouldn’t let me get a picture of the turn in off the county road.......and how close to the cemetery sign the wagon was. Or the rickety ancient chute you gotta bump but not tear up. Poor folks got poor ways. Been coming in here since I can remember. It’s improved compared to before he started makin money. More of these places than I care to talk aboutDale thompson, RockinChair, Shock Therapy and 13 others Thank this. -
It looks like if you bump the fence just a little the barn will fall down!

The challenge if getting into places like this will really make you hone your skills going forward and backwards.
Placed like this will never be seen or appreciated by a van or reefer operator. Kinda reminds me of pasture loading swamp cattle out of Florida.99kw900, Swine hauler, Coffey and 2 others Thank this.
