Oh they would run till they married with the asphalt. But early electronic engines were the best of best. Limited breakdowns and computer watched temps. Let's face it, crappy drivers existed in every generation. I've met them. Sheety steering wheel holders are responsible for the nanny controls.
I'll get hate for this, but just because a guy is old. Don't make him better. A younger guy with all the technology dont make him better either.

But they are a 600k mile fleet engine at best. 22 years ago they lasted a million with little concern. After 05 we have gone backwards and drivers are worse.
