Oh they would run till they married with the asphalt. But early electronic engines were the best of best. Limited breakdowns and computer watched temps. Let's face it, crappy drivers existed in every generation. I've met them. Sheety steering wheel holders are responsible for the nanny controls.

I'll get hate for this, but just because a guy is old. Don't make him better. A younger guy with all the technology dont make him better either.

It's amazing current engine models run as well as they do considering what they're asked to do. I've had this DD13 since new, it has 194k and 0 CEL or failures.

IFTA Q4, $2.83, 3,428 miles, 5.69 mpg, bought too much fuel in VT, again. Gettin ready to retire the C70 and run the 7100, be nice to get double that with the DT466, we'll see...

 

But they are a 600k mile fleet engine at best. 22 years ago they lasted a million with little concern. After 05 we have gone backwards and drivers are worse.

We are in the days of technology changing faster than times.
