1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Don't wait for them to call you. For every app I fill out online, I call them the next day. For one, it shows you are serious about looking for work. If it's with a company you are really interested in, keep calling them. They'll get the message.

That Mopar above guy speakith the truth. Call them!

I called today and the recruiter told me that they haven't got my MVR back from Florida yet. She said call tomorrow.

I have another call into a smaller local company running OTR. I slipped in the back door. I had left several messages with the recruiter, no calls back. I called an instructor that knows their safety director. I called her and introduced myself, dropped the instructor's name. She put me on hold, got back on and told me to call the recruiter at 4pm. I did, she answered. Told me she had to finish up my info, she will call me by noon tomorrow.

    Crossing my fingers!

Good luck, Rug. I'm still waiting to hear from my local company. I called this morning and he said nothing is available yet. He said no one has quit yet. In an odd way, that sounds like a good sign. Seems like they are good enough that no one wants to quit. Unfortunately for me, I guess someone needs to quit before I can get on.

Still got a foot in with Swift as well. When I talked to them last week, they said they actually had an opening for me, but could not reach me so I lost it. They also needed a copy of my license before I got my cdl, which I emailed to them. Called this morning and, again, nothing available yet, but keep checking back. Hope something happens soon. I'm driving my wife crazy!

    PS...MOPAR OR NO CAR!

Well I talked to them yesterday. They can't seat me for orientation!

I seems I have 2 valid licenses! My Florida license is still valid! I surrendered it last August. So I dropped by the local DMV and asked them to check into it. Suppossedly they had a "special number" to call to get Florida to cancel my license.

They are pretty full up for the first week of February. Hopefully the attrition rate will be high.

Still trying to work a local OTR company.

February?! ####, I hope it don't take that long! Last time I talked with my recruiter, she said I had missed an opening and nothing else was available at this time, but I'll keep calling. Will call them again tomorrow, as well as the local company I'm talking with.

I wonder if you and I are talking to the same recruiter. Would they send you to Memphis?

I got my latest debacle fixed today and faxed the info to the recruiter.

+1 You have to call to follow up, too many things that can fall by the wayside and you have to be way more motivated to get the job than they are, they already have a job..

Missed a call this morning saying "I got your license cancellation from Florida. I still need you 2 personal references, and your signed OK to check past employers." I called back and left a message that it was faxed last week. If you need me to do it again let me know.

Still waiting on my background check from another company to come back. I am ready to take my physical an pee in the jar.
