Who is the person in the economy deciding how many truck drivers there should be? Who is the person deciding how many apples will be grown? Who is the person deciding how many computers must be built? Who is the person deciding how many movies must be made? Before anyone can honestly announce a shortage they must know what the designated correct number of something there should be.
If I put a pony on my wish-list and I don't get one for Christmas, is there a pony shortage? If 50 million kids wants a pony for Christmas and only 100 get a pony, is there a nearly 50 million pony shortage?

Get enough experience at some XYZ trucking company and build up the rep from there. Move onto railroads or any other place where hopefully some experience will mean as much as say a BA or BS in some random discipline. -

Bottom line is that trucking, especially long haul isn’t for everyone. It’s a different way of life. And the government interventionists can’t comprehend that dirty little fact.
