3 inches in Flagstaff some time around middle of 1958. Same stuff you describe, I too was surprised.

 

I can remember selling fat 600 to 750 lb calves for $.31 cent per pound. And we were making money calf over grass. Used an Angus bull on Polled Hereford cows, Angus calf smaller head was easier for cow to deliver. Herford bulls on Angus cow, you had to dig the calf out. 1951-52.

Always wondered how much gator it takes to make a pair of boots.

 

Never was able to talk to a man who used a knife or spear. Kind of strange, now that you bring it up.

 

Takes two gators to make a pair of cowboy boots. Gator got only one tail, takes two to get that narrow taper.
