I wonder how it's done daily if coming home. Must be unloaded pretty fast I assume. You have some good lanes with regular clients?

He showed he's back at 2pm? What time do you get home?

If you can come home everyday and still make it happen, then you accomplished what you needed.
I stay two, three nights overnight, rest home.
I ran less miles last year than you though. I took more time off.

    Are you using the e-log?

great organization of costs! you must have been hardcore diligent with your daily tracking to generate such clean data!
looks like you made $50k in addition to paying your wages
might think about splitting the truck repairs into 1) ownership costs 2) preventative maintenance / consumables (service, tires) 3) major repair
for some people ownership is the payment, for others its just an amount of depreciation collected so that you have an escrowed amount to eventually buy new equipment. it isnt free just because its paid off

Don't mess around with time wasters Lol. A few steady runs every week. Sometimes will be doing the same move a few weeks in a row other times it's playing the board putting rounds together

If I time it just right it's not uncommon to deliver/reload & deliver all in the same day. But booking like that you have to really know the customer isn't gonna hold you up and screw the rest of your day. Those days are usually 12-14 hr with maybe 300 miles

If you live in a good lane where you can keep home base in the middle getting home daily is easy. Easy to do in the Northeast. Works out good living on the I-81 corridor

The 2021 rate was actually around $13k for insurance. I got my Authority halfway thru the year though, so it was prorated. The first half was the leased on rates which were much cheaper. 2022 got bumped down to $8500 due to clean record and 2/2 good inspections.

I’m not sure how much personal vehicle driving history helps but I have 0 tickets or accidents or anything on my record. So maybe that helps too.

Truck and trailer are also cheap old things for minimal coverage.

That’s awesome! My dad does something similar when needed and it works well for him, he grossed much more $$. No E-log, truck is a 96 so I use paper.

Thanks I appreciate that! The $50k is true, but a lot of that went to medical expenses and a little bit of debt payoff. The rest into the emergency maintenance fund. Good call on at least splitting up the Routine/PM vs other repairs. I’d say about $15k each way just as an estimate.

Thank you, I appreciate it!! The numbers are one of my favorite things to keep track of.

Question. Why on earth did you dead head 40%? You put about 40,000 unpaid miles on your truck? Not trying to be offensive or rude, but this is kind of.....shocking to me.
