I just bought a semi truck in Idaho, how can I bring it back to California

When we bought ours, the seller gave us a temporary registration that lasted a week or one month. I can't remember.
Then we insured it the same day we bought it.

 

You need DOT # to get fuel permit, temporary permit and insurance for WA, OR and CA.
Also need name on door that matches Bill of Sale. Anything will do as long as its legible from scale house.

 

Fuel permit and temp permit are not required.... why... because until you registered it as a cmv it isn't a cmv...

It's treated the same as any pov you buy out of state and drive home

 

Bought a truck in Louisiana once, insured it from home, bought some fuel permits and put NOT FOR HIRE on the doors, drove it home. Never stopped at any chicken houses along the way. Was pretty simple.

 

Bought truck in cali, had insurance and all paperwork in hand before i left to retrieve it. Had no signage on truck and 1/2 tank of fuel, bought fuel in Arizona and drove home. My new license plate arrived in 9 days, and done.
