Thanks Slowmover1! I really appreciate Kate the help. I managed to get my new coax from mirror mount up to CB cubby hole.

Running the power leads and coax up the drivers pillar is a pain to be sure. Have to remove sun visor and other screws to get enough play to fish thru with long wire ties. The quick disconnects are a good idea in case you get a radio with a different style power plug than the standard 3 pin. Would also recommend going up to 10 gauge wire from standard 16 since the run is a little longer and you would already be set if you explore radios that require more then the cb standard 2 amp.

I was able to disassemble the upper ctr area on my 19 and fish it through..No visor and screw removal..No pinch points..Did the same with power but in other direction..
I just didnt like my radio up there, just seemed outta the way..Weird cause i have had radios in volvos and western star n such and was fine up there, just not on this new fl..
Wouldnt mind haveing quick disconnect on my radio..I upped my factory pwr/gnd wire to a true 12ga 3pin i made but i still suffer about .3 of a volt drop at full power..Would like to see the full 14.4 it was tuned at..Im not sure by extending my 12ga some of it will be effective so i need to search a chart to see what voltage it will carry when at different length..
Most times i dont run full power(25%-50%) so i only loose maybe .1 or .2 of a volt..Not much i know but still.. -
Kinda sounds like you got that Cascadia dialed in pretty good.
armo and Slowmover1 Thank this. -

Craig, what is full power for you? Losing 0.2 volt in the feed line doesn't seem like enough to worry about. The power difference in such a small loss would get lost in the noise, no? -
That would be maxed out power of my barefoot 955..
I just dont want any voltage drop and the fact that somethings make me nuts and this is one of those things that make me work harder for more till its perfect..Meteorgray Thanks this. -
Most folks are happy with three miles.
I wouldn't get too obsessive about it. You're doing better than most with one of the worst trucks, so I'd say you're doing quite well.Meteorgray Thanks this. -
So I got the bearcat 880 CB, I'm in a 2019 cascadia using the stock antenna. I pick up the weather and emergency stations, and I can hear other drivers talking. But I don't think anybody can hear me, also when I do the diagnostics on the radio it says that the antenna is failing but everything else is fine?

Plascadias have a crap built in antenna..Gonna have to go with and external set up....Lotsa pages on here with different members set up...
Powder Joints Thanks this. -
My company took my LT away from me much to my dismay and gave me a 22 Crapcadia.
I had good send and receive in the LT using factory mirror mounted antennas. This plastic crap is awful. But, when I put my radio on SWR it shows a perfect 1-1 match. Amazing considering
I was getting a ton of static all the time. Then it dawned on me, there is a Cobra inverter under the bunk. I turned it off and the static all but completely disappeared. Unfortunately I need the inverter to run my fridge and freezer so I have to live with the static. .Last edited: Mar 2, 2022
