I was wondering what companies have a 2 week on 1 week off run like Schneiders home run program.

Just to let you know, when I talked to the schneider recruiter, there has to be a driver in your area that you have to slip-seat with (you have to trade the truck off). The other thing they told me, fresh hires are not eligable for the home run program. Schneider does have a very good reputation, providing you are willing to meet thier demands. Trucking company recruiters are sleazy, you take the bait and then they switch their story. I was fooled into schneiders scam too. Getting back to your question, I don't any other companies that offer the home-run program.

Roehl (pronounced Rail) has a 7 on 3 off/ 7 on 4 off program that a new student can be into in (I Think) it was about 12 weeks or so to get there. They also have a 7 on, 7 off. (same time limit) they do slip seat on both. They are from what I spoke with them pretty straight up about it. I ended up finding a local job that fit my needs and desires to start out. I am not sure of what other companys had it.
    Good Luck

I'm attempting a return to the road after a 5 yr rehab due to a back injury. Schneider's ads regarding intermodal and bulk dedicated hauls looked appealing to me as I can no longer do much in the way of lumping which is always a hassle with food service/reefer it seems. (At least in my experience) When I called a recruiter yesterday and laid out my story, I was told that there was none of that sort of work available in the western region where I'm applying from. That seemed kinda odd to me! It sounds as if the "home run" program is a similar come-on. They did however offer to rent me a car for a 600 mile trip to their orientation and offered about .07 CPM more than CRE, Swift, Interstate etc. for dry van work and promised that less than 10% of their loads need any unloading. Of course recruiters and used car salesman originate from the same mold I expect...

I'm finding that even though I have a lot of experience, the fact that I last worked in 2001 makes some companies seem to feel that I've forgotten how to drive and that I should be paid at the same rate as a recent truck school graduate. Frustrating....

I'm supposed to hear more from Schneider today, we'll see....

Hello! I was on Barr-Nunn's website a couple minutes ago and they offer the type of program you are talking about. I'm thinking about going to work for them myself. I know someone that drives for them and really loves it. Wouldn't hurt to check them out.

I'm a nuub in CDL school and reruiters come thru the school like rodents... anyways, speaking of rodents, CRST's recruiter was in yesterday and it seems CSRT is doing something simular. 20 on 10 off. All three drivers must be from the same general area.... slip seat team driving.

I have an issue with sharing my bunk with some other guy... just kinda bothers me in a way.
