There is no way I am the only one who has had such a horrible experience at this place. And the problem is.....it's not a one time horrible experience, it's EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY SEND ME THERE.

Every time it's a live load taking 4-5 hours. That's "the norm."

Well one time I go there, they give me a few docks to choose from, of course all are full so I pick a dock close to the ones they have listed as that is what they tell you to do. I sit for 2 hours without anything hitting the truck. I go inside the ware house and ask what's going on. The guy then proceeds to tell me that between dock such and such and such and such is a barrier wall in the warehouse and it's like 2 different warehouses and while I did pick a dock numerically that was close to my assigned dock, I picked one in the "other half" of the warehouse so they didn't even know I was there. I then moved to where they told me to and sat for 3 more hours until I was loaded. There went 5 hours.

Fast forward to today. I get this load on my QC box at 11:15am while getting unloaded on the other side of BR. As soon as I get unloaded I boogey to KTM for my 12pm appt. I arrive at about 12:10. I could not have physically arrived at this location any earlier than this. I stand outside the shipping office as only one driver is allowed inside at a time at the kiosk. That driver is hispanic and doesn't understand it and has to be shown what to do so it takes several minutes. Two more drivers get in and out and it's my turn. I have the wrong pickup number so I leave the shipping office and call dispatch. They give me the right one and I return to the kiosk and another driver is in there. I wait for him to clear and I input my information. It prints out the paperwork and they give me a set of doors to try. I back in and wait 3 hours without anything happening. Now understand, they haven't mentioned ANYTHING to me other than the doors to try. I talk to a forklift driver who says they have logged me as late. I said I wasn't late. So I go to the shipping office and ask them WTF is going on. They said I checked in at 12:35pm. My appt was at noon. They give a 30 min grace period. I said I was standing outside for 20 minutes waiting to get in here. They said nope, you're late doesn't matter. I got so mad I said I'm not coming back. Making a driver wait outside for 20 minutes to get to a kiosk that he MUST enter his information into quickly or else he will be put at the bottom of the loading list and be there for 5 hours is BULLPOOP. I was there, I couldn't get in, that is NOT my fault. Had I arrived and immediately been able to get to the kiosk and find my PU number was wrong I would have had plenty of time to call real fast and get the right one and put it in. But I didn't even KNOW my PU number was wrong until it was basically too late.

And to top it off, I'm 50 miles from my house the DAY BEFORE I put in to be home and I'm out for weeks at the time. I begged them to just send me home from the previous receiver and I'll start my home time a day early and they refused. So I got to sit for 5 hours and run out of drive time at this hell hole that is KTN. And even better yet, I call dispatch and they don't have a load to get me home from the yard that I'm bringing this load to tomorrow morning.

And then they had the audacity to tell me that "losing my cool" doesn't represent the company well and he says that needs to stop immediately. I said lying about me being late isn't cool and I won't tolerate that, is that clear? Them saying I was late is a service failure for my company which looks just as bad as me fighting that out with them in the office when I wasn't late. I won't let people push me around. If I am late, I'll admit it and take my lashings. But when I'm NOT LATE and am being punished like I WAS late, I will fight back every single time.

They can fire me if they want to, I could care less. Nobody is going to treat me like that.

A driver who takes this type of treatment must be desperate for a job. I have never allowed myself to be "abused". I could cite story after story during my 59 years of driving that I said, "bye, bye, I refuse to be your "subject". Dropped a trailer some 900 miles from the yard, bobtailed back, because I plainly told the owner, "I do not do grocery warehouses" He said you will do what I say. Next morning when I came bobtailing in, he almost had a stroke.

I like when a shipper or receiver says “You’re late” when a load is dispatched improperly or the load info was incorrect. I always argue. Tell them I’m not and never have been. The load may be late but given the information I was……I’m right on time.

And regardless, the freight still needs loaded or unloaded so just shut up and do it. When I talk to non trucking friends, this is what gets them the most.

What I haul out of there are pellets used to make plastics like bottles, plastic tubes, etc.. Polyolefins are what they are called. The warehouse I'm talking about is in Baton Rouge, right off of highway 61 north going towards the MS state line.

KTN is short for Ketone Nate, the actual name of the company. Usually very heavy, almost right at gross weight. The good thing is that there is a small mom and pop truck stop right up the road with a CAT scale.

Why didn't dispatch have the right pickup number to start with and who do you I drive for?

I don't know, the people that build the trips in the system sometimes don't put all numbers available. Most of the time I have the right number for the trips I go on.

And I drive for a small company out of MS.
