    Once when I had that problem it happened again about two weeks later. Blowing the dipstick out, oil everywhere and such.
    Ended up it had an exhaust valve guide with excessive clearance. Maybe 3/16" with the spring still on it. Soot from the exhaust was passing into the crankcase. Reconditioned head had only been on about 6 weeks.
    Hope that is not your problem, just sharing.
