Hello! I’m a new driver currently in cdl school. I want to go to Schneider for first year, and the job I want to do is National Dedicated Fleet.

but I want to start off as otr while I transition to completely living on the truck.

so if I want to, let’s say change to NDL three months in, what’s the process like? Do I have to go through orientation again for all the specialized training?

Yes you will need to go back for specialized training (Moffitt, flatbed securement, doubles, etc).

Just start out nat dedicated. It's a good gig.

what ever you choose, generally the rule is 6 months before you can switch to something else. and then they need to be able to replace you before that can happen. exceptions of course but thats what it was when I was there.
