OK hear is my thought on good and bad company's ( maybe i am wrong )
all company's have there good points and bad points "right"
it is no diff working for company's in the construction world , finance , medical , EXT!!!!! it is a job and the owners want what they want out of people correct ? so is one company better or worst then another "i am sure " seem to me tho . we all have to work one way our another to make a living. We have to realize some people do not like working for someone and others "it is what it is '" i am not a trucker yet but have worked for some ######## and survived and owned my own business for 15 years so i have been on both sides i am just looking for a company that treats people like people and you get your job done and make a little money in the proses we all have to start somewhere so please help me decide give me some good info

not all companies have their good points
it's different then other jobs when you are not paid hourly....
everyone wants a company that treats you fairly not just you....
truth is you are probably gonna eat crow for a little while. if you make it through all the bs and survive trucking to get a little time in it will get better. don't expect to skip that step though, it's possible but getting harder

I agree, far the most part all companies have good and bad. You just have to find one that will give you what you want and where you can ignore the bad. The one I work for does that for me. Swift is a good place to start. Get your training, Put in a year or two to get some exp. and then get the hell away from them. They have a term in Greer S.C.

WRONG!!! Trucking is MUCH different from any other job out there. About the only thing that compares to it is maybe the military.

All of the training companies (AKA: McMega carriers) are very poor places to work.
You will be a number and nothing more.

    Kenny,

    Here is the TRUTH !!!

If you can get hired by a smaller company, it is almost always much better !!!

Search on here for posts by Lavender, she can fill you in.

Unless you are set on OTR, why not try some local companies? I see you are in Mooresville and I know of a few that will hire as a switcher for 1-2 years and then put you on the road. My company does 2 years on the yard and then will let you on the road. A new road driver will make $45,000 the first, $50,000 the second and over $60,000 from then on if you WANT to work. The best thing is sleeping at home every night. That and 40-45 hr. weeks.

I know alot of tankers companies but they all haul gasoline. The problem with tankers is you'll start at the bottom and have to work up no matter how much OTR experience you have. If you can stick with it you'll be better off in the end.

Except the military will give you pay raises as you go along.
