Im wonderin am i really not HIREABLE because i got a speeding ticket for 71/55? and because that will never come off my MVR, i will always be penalized for it? So i should give up MY CDL ? Or is there some hope the older it gets ? And is there really a way to get it removed ?

Have you been to court already ? If so and already convicted it can't be removed . If you just got the ticket it's likely an attorney can get it reduced .

About the only thing you can do is wait it out till the points fall off.

I thought a conviction of over 15 mph was a suspension.
    Is your license Currently Valid.

How long ago was that? After you got your CDL?

I'm pretty sure it's a suspension after 2 severe violations in 3 years. It might as well be suspended because it will be hard to find work with that. Insurance companies won't want to touch you.

For anyone who reads this, it pays to get an attorney that is familiar with DOT regs when you get a ticket like that.

When and where are besides the point. You have a ticket for 16 over. That makes you a leaper in todays industry. There are thousands of drivers looking for work with much better records. The longer you are out the harder it will be to get back in. Most companies want 6 mos OTR in the last 36 and allot of them are now changing that to 6 in the last 12 or 18. It will take 36 mos before you no longer have to tell companies about that ticket. You have a problem my friend.

Yeah, 15 or more over is a serious offense. ( in a CMV). Same with tailgating, illegal lane change and a couple others. Just wait it out.

    81 in a 65 in KY.
In a CMV with a CDL, convicted of same !!
$300 attorney fee -- poof, disappeared.

Do NOT say what can or cannot be done, unless you are sure about what you speak !!

Now DozerCowboy, if I can help by explaining this --I'd be happy to.
