There maybe a problem with that shooting. The employee was not in harms way. Yes I get it my car is being stolen. "I don't believe I need to kill anyone over a car when they are driving away it". That's my take. Yes you go out to do wrong & at times you end up like this.
austinmike and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
If he can articulate how he was fearful the thief could run him over and/or show up at his house and harm his family, he might be just fine aside from a few stains.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

So the employee of the warehouse was loading a work vehicle. And heard someone starting his personal vehicle.
Or was the thief trying to steal the work vehicle, probably a van while the employee was inside? -
If employee was inside the vehicle while it was being started and driven away that life was in danger.
Click click bang bang. Problem solved at low speeds before it hit the highway. -
Shoot the tires out, criminal stops and runs away.
Shoot the criminal in the vehicle, you get charged with homicide and you have a bloody mess inside your vehicle.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
if the car was driving away, and the dummy shoots a fleeing car, how was his life in danger..??
this could end up being manslaughter charges.
you simply do not shoot at fleeing thieves. -
Shoot and ask questions later. Thousands of jobs available in Las Vegas; the thief just too sorry to work. Up all night stealing and mugging, so has to sleep late to get rested for the next night.

“At one point when the employee was inside the vehicle, he noticed his car had started and he saw someone attempting to drive away in it.”
from what it looks like the employee was in his truck? Van? So it is justified no? -
if he was in his work vehicle, jumps out and shoots at a fleeing thief..driving away his c ar....??
NO, not justified to shoot a fleeing criminal.
if the worker was IN HIS personal vehicle, and the thief ENTERED that vehicle, and pointed a knife, or even a toy gun, then blast him away, as the threat is imminent. (no one knows right away, a real gun from a fake gun, when it's suddenly in your face)
the prosecutors office will have a field day with that worker, for shooting at a fleeing suspect.
only cops can do that. not civilians.
