P.G. Adam’s in South Burlington Vt be the best place to start for frame rails. I don’t know if I’d want to pay a shop $100+/hr for all that nutting and bolting though. I re-railed an ‘85 Freightliner from aluminum to steel back in the ‘90s and even then I saved around $20k doing it myself. It’s a big job to start with, and it grows as you go. I didn’t change wheelbase. I only had to deal with hoses and fittings that were compromised somehow. You are, so think about every hose and wire that runs the length of the truck. Replace, or splice in a never ending headache? You get a truck apart to that point there’s no end of things you find that need attention.

I don’t know if he’d be willing, but you could ask TJ at Contraband Customs in Winchester New Hampshire.

 

The thing about PG Adams is that you can send them your frame rails and they will redrill them exactly as they are drilled so when you get them back it's just assembly.

I would imagine you can probably Mark the frame like say right in front of where the rear suspension would start and have them move that back however far that you wanted them to start the pattern over again to extend the frame and just have one long solid piece of frame without any cuts or splices. They probably can' even give a heavier single frame rather than having a double frame.

Going from double frame to single is tough because I think most of the Peterbilts that double frame goes all the way up to the front axle. They can't just cut it behind the cab somewhere and splice into it. That becomes a much larger job.

And those Peterbilt double frames always seem to swell and separate somewhere up front.

Probabaly cheaper to sell it and buy a longer single frame rig .
Sure be a lot less downtime .
