Here is some of the broker MC#s the use. More pop up daily. Id recommend doing your due diligence when booking.
1. have you heard of them before? RD FLAG
2. Do they use all capital letters in the brokerage name on DAT - ie SUN CITY SOLUTIONS MC# 1245301 -RED FLAG
3. Are they based out of the LA area - Grenada Hills, North Hollywood, Glendale, Tujunga, Santa Monica, etc? RED FLAG
4. Does the rate con say to check in under a different carrier name? RED FLAG
5. Check the reviews on DAT, especially if they have all signs above, there will be reports.

You got it man. Trust me, I get it. The ######## call us on at least one in five loads. They've moved to try and get going on flatbed loads. It's getting to the point that I'm starting to recognize their voices.

 

Same i know instantly if its one of them or not of the accent, its very distinct. And the area code as well gives it away.

 

i think i found one last night on truckstop loadboard. seemed to be a weird load, fontana ca to showlow az. well i used to live in showlow and theres no reason for flatbed frieght to be going there unless its for a jobsite, which is unlikely. googled the phone number and the area code came back to glendale CA. cant remeber what the hell their name was. i appreciate you guys making this thread and uncovering all this information, its a god send!

Got another fake Glendale Gang double broker reposting loads on DAT, they part of the problem too.

They are using a 702 las vegas area code instead of the ususal 818/747 codes.

 

Please spread the word to other carriers to be on the lookout for these scammers.

I have a buddy who’s in a bit of a pickle. He’s an owner op and in Hollywood, Ca. Before you say anything yes he drives, I’ve worked on his truck and see him from time to time on the road.


So here is the issue.


His accountant also works with a few other companies and these other companies turned out to be double brokerages Carrier MC’s.

when the accountant updated his MCS-150 report they used the firms fax number on all of their clients. You see where this is going.

the Fax number was flagged under the fake MC’s as well as his. So now Not only can he not get a load from certain brokers, the list is starting to get bigger and bigger.


He’s tried to talk to the brokers but it seems as though they don’t care.

is their anyway to remedy this situation?

 

As far as I know the 150 can be updated at any time. I would update with the correct info.

 

the info has been updated but brokers still have him in their system and not caring about removing him.
