If the driver passed out then crashing the truck saved him from dying...Thanks YRC for still hanging in there and moving cheap freight.

Somehow i can see a new law forming that you cant eat while driving, leave it to oregon to lead the way. they already have the hands free cell phone law, somehow i can see this happening now to.

Well he had better get on his knees and thank GOD,seems like swine ain't the only thing that can kill you at the blink of an eye.

Nicely put.

Thank the DOT and MCSA for not allowing the ablity to take a BREAK WHILE DRIVING EITHER. Think about it if the driver could have had a break he would have eaten his chicken out of the TRUCK AND NOT WRECKED.

Some of the comments on that article make me shake my head at anyone talking. Because I have never seen a car driver with a donut in one hand, and a coffee in the other. The fact is this is yet another tragic but freak 'accident'. If the events happened exactly as written, the truck driver was not at fault and the police are just being #####.
I am sorta with ironeagle, if he could have stopped without risking his load and eaten he would have. I know few drivers whom don't prefer to eat then drive, if time allows. When I was working not on a truck we were legally REQUIRED to have 30 mins - 1 hour break a day where we had lunch. At my office, we did not get 'paid' for this time. Meaning we had to clock OUT then clock back in after. Thusly it wasn't working time.
