I’m pretty sure your company needs to register you and your truck. Whenever I tried to go in Dundalk with one of our spare trucks I would have to wait if they didn’t update which truck I was in.

 

Is that some security clearance thing or something…?

If you have a TWIC you just need to be registered if not you have to use an escort service…and not the good kind!

 

Yea I heard drivers speak of having an escort lead them in the ports. A Twic card is something I’ve considered just in case anymore. I’ve overlooked a few decent loads on the boards because of not having one.

I’ve also noticed a lot of loads anymore, that ‘require’ one thing I’ve got… being an American citizen….

 

Not bad to have if you go in the ports or on military bases pretty regular. Not that big of a deal to get. Fingerprint and pay. It’s been worth it to me up until this last year.

 

So the time I took my wife's grocery cash and left a note. "Needed Cash to get escort in Toledo, see you tomorrow" She was justified calling and asking what I was up to? I paid it back.

 

I’m not sure what the purpose of it is. But when you pull in there there’s a camera that looks at your plate, many times they will ask you what your plate number is when you pick the phone up to get in. I don’t think there is a cost associated with it either.

 

Friend used his rollback to put 2 hummers on me going to Fort Bragg. Had to go through a search and filing out some paperwork. This was back when I still used a side kit….
