One huge mistake you're making is not putting Mama to work and trying to transition from one decent paying job to a not so decent paying job. During the transition, you need to make adjustments in your lifestyle, such as foregoing kids nights out. Maybe beans/hot dogs a couple nights a week on the cheap. Or less driving the family car to save on gas. There are ways to make cuts, brown bag it instead of fast food joints. Unused lights get turned off to save on electricity. Don't let your kids throw away food. They clean their plate, everytime. And on and on and on.....

The brown bag lunches were a BIG saving for me when my kids were young. Not only were they cheaper than the school lunches, but they were more nutritious, and the kids liked what they got WAY better than the school crud!
And ya'll have the luxury of kids' night out 4 times a month??!!?? COOL! But, ya know, to cut costs, how about a "kids' night in", instead? On a Friday or Saturday, invite 1-2 of the kids' friends for a sleepover, rent a movie, pop some corn, have a couple healthy, (and inexpensive) snacks on hand, and VOILA'! A perfect night for the kiddos, memories to last a lifetime, and it won't bust the budget!
And, as Allow Me stated, the list can go on and on and on...

P.S. Oh, yeah, don't forget all those extra taxes that are gonna be taken out if Obamacare goes through. Now, THAT will bust MY budget!

Ya know, just last night I had it figured that I'd have $840 left over at the end of the year and that's with me making only $32,000 and the wife making $20,800. Now you tell me I might get some surprises that'll eat up the $840 in a heartbeat.... brakes for the car, new water heater, jr's new horn, kids sick so mom misses work, etc. Okay, let's see if you can burst my bubble a little more. Let's say I DO make $45,000. That's $13,000 more than the $32,000 I started this little budget with. I'll net $10,400 from the extra $13,000. That's $867 EVERY MONTH! No way me and my little family can spend that, right?
