On a website where 99% of the people on it cry on a daily basis about log regs... Really?
-
It's honestly your responsibility and the regs and rules can be found in the "green book" that is probably in perfect, unused condition in your truck or at home in the pile... Section 395 in the book covers it all.. Start with 395.7 for "definitions"... it will cut through a lot of BS and give you the answers you need.

Why do you have an issue with the company? The trainer is the one with whom you should have an issue. If there are two of you in a truck the company usually has no way of knowing which of you is driving at any given time, so it's easier for the trainer to slip things past safety without getting caught. When there's only one of you assigned to a truck, the company knows exactly who is driving at any given time.
Accept the coaching by the compliance office as an opportunity to learn. Remember, if they have evidence you're not following HOS regulations they could have fired you instead.Professor No-Name Thanks this. -
You are expected to know different because as a responsible professional adult it was expected of you to read the regulations regarding the hours of service. Then if ya had any questions about them , if ya weren't satisfied with your trainers answers ya should've asked someone like the safety director for clarification. As professionals we are responsible for all our own actions as well as any good or bad decisions we make. As far as coaching from your compliance officer use it as a learning experience an use the knowledge ya gained for your future benefit. He or she are just doing their job. It's nothing personal!!MadScientist Thanks this.
