How much are you paying for a CPA and what all are they doing

I decided to hire an in house CPA / Accountant ~$1000 / month. he does everything from cash flow, quick books, payroll, profit loss, updating accounts, paying invoices and other tasks too. Best investment

Do your own ledger and use the accountant to help with major decisions and taxes, spending $1000 a month is stupid.

 

I put all my own numbers into a spread sheet each week. Every quarter I print out P&L . At the end of the year I print out a final P&L and give those to my CPA . She only charges me $338.00 to file my taxes. It beats paying some of these truck specific tax companies thousands of dollars a year.

If you spend a little time each day to record your expenses, not only will you have a better understanding of the health of your business, it will also simplify your quarterly and annual filings.

My wife is an EA. She gives each of her clients a tax organizer. If they maintain their records properly, then their tax filing can be quickly prepared and e-filed.
