my door jam sticker is faded and half falling off. During vin verification when I registered DMV officer knew exactly where to look. Yet that still isn’t a LEO on the road so it can vary.
If I decide to do it, I need to purchase both trucks. Titles in hand before I do anything. This way I own both vehicles.
I was wondering if it’s even possible. Looks like it Is
Which VIN would be used for registration?

A 4300 IHC rollback, GMC twin screw with a dump bed and Moffet set up, Kodiac Western Hauler type set up and a 3500 Chevy dump as examples. That is want your title says the serial number is and it was just like this when you bought it. I would stick to it.

I get that.
my question is what happens when the part that has the vin is bent, or rusted out and you have to replace it. I guess I should have asked that.
because from what it looks like you can slide in a different year frame rail With older vin and if you have the title to that frame you can essentially register it as an older vehicle.
Just thinking things out.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

I would imagine the vin could be stamped onto a new frame rail.
