Well yesterday the ding ding ding returned. Of course it happened on a Sunday when I have 600 miles to drive. Went today and bought a new tank $280. It came with a sensor. So now I'll keep the sensor that I bought a month ago as a spare. It was super easy to swap out like @D.Tibbitt said. 2 bolts and 3 hose clamps. Of course you'll need 2 or 3 empty gallon jugs to drain the coolant into, which drains from the blue hose that goes into the top middle of the tank...

right on ! did you have any problems with the holes lining up with the new tank? on mine i had to get a bolt in 1 hole and tug pretty hard on the tank to get it to line up with the other hole. other then that easy job. $280 isnt a bad price. i like to carry a spare tank with me , i had a pinhole leak in 1, sensor went out in another, and had that plastic nipple break off on that small hose that goes into the top of the tank after hitting a big pothole. sprayed coolant everywhere.. 3 coolant tanks in 2 years i owned the truck... high quality parts from chinaGod prefers Diesels, DeereRunner97, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this.

Ya, same problem with the bolt holes. Pretty much just pushed my body weight onto it as I was standing on the steer tire installing it.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

I'm wondering why I have coolant on the left side of the tank? From my understanding none is supposed to be on that side? The old tank never had any there. Did I happen to buy a defective tank? Had to add 1/2 gallon into the main side on the right when I woke up this morning.
DeereRunner97 Thanks this. -
Did you get OEM Paccar or TRP tank? I have heard of some issues with the TRP ones and we don’t use them. If it didn’t do that before, I don’t know how it can be anything else?
JonJon78 Thanks this. -
Its TRP, that's all they had. Do you suggest I seek out an OEM and swap this one out or is the coolant on the left side not hurting anything?
