Your family doesn't talk to you right? So who cares what they think?

I have had family come after me and my father for money. My dad and his sister inherited a chunk of money, when thier parents died. My aunt bought a condo in DC, still owns it. My dad invested 80,% of it. But they claim they are poor and won't sell their condo. My dad's and his wife will burn thru the money in a nursing home. AUNT has the condo hidden so they are on government welfare. But still get rent. Family can be stupid and useless.

My family spoke generally until about a year ago. I understand about Covid etc. Last year when I was in the hospital after my M.I. not a single member of my family took the time to at least come to see me. I have plenty of room. So, I cut them out of my will. I will stay as civil as they allow me to be. When my mother died many years ago she died angry at my oldest sister. In fact so angry she told me that night as we drove back to her home she might never go back to her home. BOTH of my sisters are horrible people. The only thing I can count on them to do is NOT be there if I need them. Legally they are Keri's aunts now and Keri is attempting to develop an Aunt/Niece relationship with both. Time will tell, I'm not optimistic, but also don't want my negativity to become self-fullfilling prophecy.

 

Do you have a revocable trust set up?

 

No, not at this time. The (GAL) in Richmond has a copy of my will and as long as he is in place I have been advised I need no trusts setup. I do have a living will setup though. I have mentioned several times having something to do in Richmond. Taking this to the (GAL) is that thing. If I become unable to make decisions Keri and the (GAL) will take care of my business until I do in fact pass away. Then the (GAL) will be dismissed and my will probated.

Are you only looking at 2 tiles high or all/most of the way up?

If only 2 high it Looks like they will have to notch it to go around the outlets? That would break the long strait line. If in my kitchen, that would drive me further bat nuts.
