What brand, type and weight did y’all use before T4? Just wondering, because if you stepped up to t4, which is a great oil for older engines not overly on x15. What kind of quality of oil did you use before!?!
Many guys running X15 performance are running T5/6 or Delo XLE. These oils do great on emissions engines. It’s all about keeping the deposits in suspension and low ash. Cheap oil is hard on DPF. If you move to better oil you may notice less regen and longer DPF service intervals. T4 is a bargain oil for an engine that costs 65K installed! So if you had something cheaper!! We’ll no surprise there were issues! Newer engines need a gentle touch of pampering. You can’t run low performing lubricants or dump used engine oil in your fuel tanks anymore.

saving money on engine lubrication is not a good place to save money.

O.K. For those interested Cummins Tech Support has found the fix for the dreaded injector "ghost codes" 1139-1145 and other codes also for the CM2350/X15 platform...............Seems that codes were being tripped because of using Chinese, non-Cummins O.E.M., exhaust gas pressure sensors. I have verified that this solution works. 2 trucks that I have had problems with had Chinese sensors installed because of the inter gallactic back order on Cummins sensors. Sometimes the simple fix is the hardest to find.

Talked to some DUDE at a shop he was getting a PM had an X-15 think he said 565HP.

200K miles zero issues. Said he had some sensor replaced in the aftertreatment by Cummins warranty.

Something to be aware of with the X15, we have several customers running these and lately they have codes for intake Nox sensor, turbo speed, intake temp sensor. Have found the sensors are good, the problem is the wiring in the harness fails, on 7 trucks now we open up the loom and inspect the wiring and find where the loom has rubbed the insulation and bare wiring or open circuits are found. usually it is close to the turbo area but has been as far back as the rear or the oil cooler housing. easy to fix when found, just putting this out there if it helps someone.

Hello, I was googling X15 jake brake ,vibration and this thread popped up, so I thought I would give it a shot and see if anyone is having the same issues I’m having.
I have an X15 performance 565/1800 and have developed a vibration in the jake brake after the engine has been under load, ie. climbing hill. The problem seems to arise when the oil temp gets up to around 145 degrees. Generally oil pressure will drop off from 35 to 30, but not every time, and coolant temp will be above 200. When all these drop back to normal, jake brake works properly. I also have high oil consumption now. Engine has 460 thousand on it now. All this started after I had the truck on the dyno when Peterbilt was trying to track a coolant use issue.
Has anyone had these sorts of problems? Or am I alone in this. I have had the truck in Peterbilt for a total of 8 weeks the last half of 21 and none of them have been able to find the issue. At this point I can’t afford any more shop time with this truck and if I can’t get it fixed I’m going to have to run it till it blows and then rebuild it.

I was told the noise and vibration I am having is due to noisy gear train.
