Is anyone seeing a rate increase due to fuel prices, truck and parts shortage. We all should be, and if not the few left standing(rolling) after this should make out good. What’s the best market to be in these days

Both of the contracts I use a lot upped rates over the last year voluntarily. They also have weekly adjusting FSCs so the rates have been going up weekly.

I have also seen some nutty rates on the load board around me - $7-11 a mile for short local loads. Mostly due to demand and truck shortage but still juicy.

I like what you're saying but that's not gonna happen.

First all of the idiots that put zero down on a $300,000 truck and trailer and are paying five six seven thousand dollars a month are going to work for nothing until their trucks are repossessed and they'll drive the rates down for everyone else because they were so brilliant that they thought they would get rich.

It's hard to make them pay when you have other idiots that are so desperate that they can't sit and wait for a good load that they'll jump on anything anywhere at anytime for any rate.

That's what short haul should be. A lot of it is one way so it has to be 7+ to make sense

I agree, but I’ll say those same exact loads were more like $4-6 a mile 6-8 months ago. So the point was (to the OPs question) they have definitely gone up, at least those specific loads in my area I’m looking at.

Yea man, it’s crazy even the junkyards are getting cleaned out. Anyone who had a used truck lot with a full inventory in 2020 can probably retire now in 2022

I’m tryin to just understand what you are saying.

you are currently pulling a load 2 weeks ago for $7500 for a friend, that you got for $8100?

Please help. Brain has stopped working because it’s trying decipher this. Can’t sleep.
