This place is pretty nice after the remodel. The entire lot is free right now too, not sure how long that will last.

The remodels are always nice looking but not want we really need. TA has been using the Covid closure excuse to close most of their sit down restaurants. They remodel the entire building but eliminate the Country Prides and even the Iron Skillets at some Petros. The prices for a shower go up, the restaurants are closed in favor of fast food stores and soon all their parking spaces will be paid or leave the premises. They have lost touch with the truckers that made them what they are today but should look back at how they used to be. I won't even stop here when out in my 5th wheel as there are too many choices where to park and eat.

The population of drivers who truly want to sit down and eat anymore is pretty low. My ex-wife used to work in the office at Muralt’s in Missoula and the restaurant there saw a large drop in revenue back when the 14 hour rule went into effect. They ended up pulling the restaurant and putting in a Wheat Montana Deli. Nowadays with all the appliances available it’s easier, cheaper, and healthier to prepare food in the truck.

TA had been losing money for years on the restaurant. The corona was just a convenient escape plan.

It's too bad Brewski's closed next door.
They always had pretty good food.

Yeah when rules changed in 04 that did away with the 8,10,15 rule it started the decline of the full restaurant in truck stops.
Along with the decline of other services.
All under the guise of safety

I never knew Muralt's had a restaurant; it's always been Wheat Montana for as long as I've known. Interesting.
What was the name of the restaurant when it was open? Just Muralt's?

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
