I laugh about that now, especially after a run in with a dummy who almost ended up with my truck in her back seat going through Howe,TX. She was peeved because I didn't pass another truck fast enough, pulled in front and jammed the brakes. Lucky for her, she decided not to stay on them. Like deer, if you're stupid enough to run in front, I'm not stupid enough to wreck because of your dumb butt. Ever since when I entered Texas I laughed when I read that sign.![]()

What's maddening about 550 going into Ouray, is that there is a sign warning you it may be hazardous driving for trucks and you should turn around......but there is no way to turn around from that point. It's all narrow roads and soft dirt around them. The town is barely big enough to get through as it is, let alone try to turn around. I had checked before going there and Rand McNally (liars) said it was a truck route. Funny thing is, it said the one in NM isn't. Talk about dyslexic and moronic.

You got that right. I was riding the middle line and pitying anyone coming from the opposite direction, because I was NOT moving back over.

What is it about Houston that says the laws of physics don’t apply. Don’t know how many times I have seen three cars try to get into one space. Not even going to start on the braking for hallucinations.

How's US97 up through OR out of Cali up to 84? Looks like a big road on the map but I've never traveled it.

Your supposed to know, that at the first traffic light just on the outskirts of town, you turn right on 62. On 550 Some of the 15 mph switchbacks, you can check your trailer lights. It is pretty bad, they have had a few significant slides the last few years, really has narrowed some sections. The fun parts with no guard rail and a few hundred feet drop off is always interesting. The motor home types just freak.Last edited: Mar 8, 2022

Mostly good road. Fair amount is wide 2 lane, lot of 4 lane as well. Still some narrows. Big thing is all the little towns you slow down for. Lots of trucks on it. Fuel is sparse. There are truck locations, just kind of spread out. Make sure you have good tanks when you go. Good idea to have supplies, food, beverages. Also tire chains. While it may be nice, it can get ugly fast. Parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. Plenty of rest areas, just small, so they get full. More so when the roads messy.Flint1, CAXPT, shooter19802003 and 6 others Thank this.

Some can wear it well, but nobody does if they look like they have an ### crack in the front.
