I skipped ahead. Not sure if it’s been mentioned but there are a few old roads in W. Va. I’ve been on in a car hauler where you could wave at the back of your trailer and watch sparks fly off the back in tight turns and the trailer tandems wouldn’t have much weight on ‘em. Would get the one finger wave from guys in coal buckets I was slowing down!

Interestingly Espressolane, I just did a Google Maps trip through there, and the one warning that shows, is at the first hairpin curve going into the Million Dollar Hwy.

This is from the Google Maps dated 2021, and interestingly, I did the Google Crawl checking out the road on the way up, and the section we're talking about seems to have been widened by pushing back the left/East Northbound lane mountain side, and there appears to actually be a bit of a shoulder now on the right/West Southbound side. The good thing is, when I did that run, April of 2013, I was empty and deadheading to Aztec for a load. That climb was definitely sheer cliff, but if they've widened the road, it might be a little more comfortable now. They've had 9 years to do it. :)

By the way, the only sign, and Google road view confirms it, is going into Ridgeway, that's where 62 comes out and the sign warns if you're 13'7", because of the tunnel, but I was empy, Midroof and well below, so I wouldn't have thought anything about it. But that sign above, should have been posted well before the town. It even looks like they made where that sign is, really wide so trucks can turn there now. Back then, I don't recall seeing that large of an area there to make a turn around.
