i got the same problem with dickies pants. its all i wear. but get worn out in the knees real quick. i kinda like the new style dickies and how they fit but i have long chicken legs and wear the slim fits... i got a pair of high vis red kaps that i use when tarping , they have held up well but the price tag on those is a bit much too. work pants and gloves, its a never ending search to find a good pair

If you can handle the cost, nothing beats Carhartt. I'm trying to lose weight to fit into my old ones that are still kicking from years ago when I was working my job I retired from. That said, and price being important especially right now, I've been a fan of Full Blue that's sold in the truck stops and locally I get them from a sporting goods store. For the price (9.00 - 12.00) they wear acceptably, and being in the truck stops was a plus since flatbed only takes a second to ruin a pair, so they were available where I was. Petro, TA, etc usually had them, at a higher price than I pay locally, of course, but much better than what they charge for the name brands.

I have a couple a pair of carharts and I'm not that impressed. I bought them after dickies changed. That is why I'm thinking of trying the wild ass brand. I just like the canvas style better than jeans. Never been a fan of jeans. However, I want pants that last and work. Since dickies are no longer an option...might have to try jeans. That's why I was leaning towards the double fronts....Longer lasting. I've got double front pants in other brands and they're not bad.

You and i are built very similar. I'm just not hipster enough for the mom jeans. Your almost half my age. I agree, the search for decent work gear is never ending. It seems every time I find something I like, they change it. Sucks.

That's fine, it was just a suggestion, but when I go back to work and lose the weight (I hope) I'll be wearing those old Carhartts. :) With Full Blue for the filthy ripping work. :)

Yeah, just tried it. Because of the dumb ### nanny state here, the link won't work. Just have to look them up on Bailey's site. Sorry

It's all good. Folks have their personal preferences. Nothing wrong with that. I have alot of carhart coats and I won't be buying anymore. Their quality isn't the same these days. They charge more and give you less. My old Carhartt Hoodie is like twice the thickness of my new one. However, the new one was like twice the price......go figure.

Well, they did change some stuff, are you talking about the really heavy hoodies? They have some that are "Rain Defender" and then there's the one's that are not "Rain Defenders". Built differently, but the outer shell seems to be the same thickness of material, it's just the inside that seems to have changed as the Rain Defender has a poly shell to keep rain out of the inside, the other doesn't and I remember how heavy those got when they got wet. The Rain Defender isn't that heavy when soaking wet like the other one. I do love Canvas too, but mostly for outer cold weather gear as it helps to keep the coat/bib overalls wind proof. I have the insulated ones for cold weather work and the uninsulated for summer work. :)

I don't know what its called, it's this one. They also changed the design of the hood and it sucks now too. How do you screw up a hood?

I have one of the newer performance duck coats and hate it. It's so short. I'm always pulling it down. It just wants to ride up constantly.
