In the oil patch you could have 3 different jobs before lunchtime, and somebody will be more than happy to throw keys at you in the afternoon. Most of that ridiculous BS disappears once you get away from the truckload freight sector. But you might get your hands dirty.

I was pulling dry vans into he USA as an owner operator. Company I was at also did flat decks and super b flat decks. I was there for two years when I decided to try super b, seeing as they liked my performance to date, they let me give it a go.
Later I went to hauling super b hoppers.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

If you want to make money doing local you have to find a union company.

$23 an hour seems low for them; and for pneumatic work. I’d say that’s probably not the extent of the compensation. In Western Canada they paid shift premiums and a couple different bonuses in addition to the base rate. They also offer a pretty good pension plan.
I am not here to sell anyone on Trimac. They aren’t easy to work for. However, they were brought up because they take on drivers without B-train experience. (Which is what this thread was about).
Whether they pay well or not, you can’t expect top wages in this industry unless you’ve got the experience or the willingness to do jobs most drivers don’t want to do.'88K100 and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
