Can I ask why dont you just buy a Blue Parrot?

 

They are useless in every truck I have tried them in. Old and new Cascadia, Mack 613 and Peterbilt 379. And KW 800.

 

This was an enjoyable part of working in the oilfield. Got to try out a lot of different makes and models, brand new to boot.

 

And anyone who puts a 10sp road tractor in the oilfield needs to be shot Lol. Us-well services had some Macks that were former road trucks. Had no business in the oilfield. Taking off on a steep hill they would stall unless you have it some fuel

 

I was with them when they first started. Beautiful brand new Peterbilt’s……with 9 speeds. Every TX based oilfield company specs the #### trucks for flat land. I complained about it quite often LoL.

 

I was in them too. At least with the 9sp Low is lower than 1st in a 10. They had a few T800 with 18s

 

The jack on the front of the DEA 700 is for Auxiliary-Input. It allows you to plug your phone or mp3 player headphone jack into the truck stereo and listen to that device using the truck stereo as a sound system.

The DEA700 sucks for several reasons. I never knew anyone that expected to use the truck's built-in mic and speaker to make phone calls. Everyone I know used some sort of bluetooth headset or earpiece for BT phone calls. BTW, the DEA700 will eventually forget it was paired to your phone or headset about once every week or two. The DEA700 will not pair to a new device while truck is in motion. To keep the DEA700 behaving well you need to leave the truck key turned off, not accessory, but off like the key is in your pocket off, every day for a minute. If you don't the DEA700 will eventually forget that your BT headset was only supposed to be used on calls and your phone was only supposed to provide audio. It may reverse those settings, or just not pair.

 

On the DEA700 radio there is a plug in the rear of the head unit for the external microphone. I actually have a spare mic in my truck. Pull the head unit out and see if the plug is empty. If so, then pick up the correct mic and route it close tou your head. I put mine directly above the visor.
