Im going to be going empty from Georgia into Jacksonville to pick up an overweight load. Ive ordered my overweight permit so no worries there, my concern is im like 83ft long from front to rear. My kingpin from to center of rear axle is like 52-53ft(Im on 6 axles RGN). Isn't the kingpin law enforced for loaded trailers? I assume its too late for the $30 annual permit because if im not mistaken you have to have to original permit which is mailed to you.

Any help here would be appreciated.

    Boondock Thanks this.

There's a thread on here from 2018 that's titled.....Spread axle kingpin Florida enforcement. Hope that helps.

You used to have to have the original with you and it was snail mailed to your address. But I haven’t purchased one since 2016.

Hearing that kind of stuff makes me wonder how anyone made a living trucking years ago.

Yea I went on my account to order one and I don’t see where you can order the $30 permit. But I last ordered in 2018 and you had to have the original mailed to you. Some of the route-specific annuals for Florida I know you do have to have the original. So I figured if I order the $100(or whatever it costs) annual I’m covered when I’m empty under that one

There are still states where copies of annual permits must be mailed and aren’t acceptable. Georgia is one and NC I think just changed that rule last year.

If you order it as a “vehicle specific” permit annual it will
Self issue and you can print it out.

I run a 7 axle annual FL permit and I buy it online and print it out every year. Be sure to Carry the right maps with it.
