I'm actually thinking the same thing. I can get what I paid for my truck 5 years ago, just dont know what I'd do, and I know I'll miss the road. I left my spot at a dedicated company and taking a month or so off. We will see what shakes out.
    Its tempting tho..

Literally anything you want dude, no one wants to work now, most guys are going with local companies IE: United Rentals, GFS, Canada Post, LOTS are going Shunt. One guy I know went to work in a Music Store (he plays guitar) and does gig's in lounges/hotels on weekend. Another buddy (English) is bar tending during the days at an english pub, then does some Skip the dishes on Fridays/Saturdays in his SICK BMW M4 lol. The sky is the limit, if you get your money back for that truck before the bubble bursts. I'm going Shunt/Service truck with my current company, truck is sold, just selling off my inventory of parts/fluids/Radio's etc etc, I can't keep up with the Kijiji msgs, its great $$$$.

Yup, I've tried to get out twice now, failed both times.
I'm home for a week or 2 and cant wait to grab a Larado load and go.
Just got home and were headed for florida for a while, and yep, I'm driving.
    I think I may have a problem?

Trucking is like a bad rash. You don't know how you end up with it, you know you shouldn't scratch it but you just can't help yourself and do it anyway..

Yea, I talk a good talk now, but I will prob end up in a daycab lol. Although I'm looking forward to having a go on the shunt truck, esp since we have 2 yards in Calgary, about 10 mins apart, so our shunt guys get to go between both, and go to flying J for fuel/lunch.

Yea I really love turnpikes, but the dealing with parking/truckstops/weather/#### roads/#### drivers/retarded LCV laws in Winnipeg/The Edmonton Death Race 500 etc etc etc just kills it. If I could do LCV short haul to Med Hat/Red Deer/around Calgary that would be sweet, but I don't think there is work for that here. I know MainStream is always doing LCV to Brooks and High River Daycab.

How about retiring on the French Riviera?
    Or is it too early?

Oh yea, I'm not even 40 lol. Also I don't mind driving daycabs in Calgary, its easy mode vs Winnipeg, Regina or Vancouver.
