I am currently OTR with a company I really like, but I may need to adjust my driving to be closer to home in WA state.
I've spoken to recruiting at Legend Transportation about their Target drop and hook dedicated account, which would run in OR, WA, MT, and ID, and involve drop and hook at both ends, carrying freight to stores from Target DC's.
I'm looking for anyone already doing this run to ask some questions.
(New) Legend Transportation Western States Target Dedicated- Anybody running this?

How long have you been with Legend? How long on this route?
Are you hauling trailers from Target or Legend? Are they in good condition-ie--not having to chase trailer repairs before you can run?
Is it drop and hook even at store locations, or just DC's?
Are you satisfied with condition of and equipment on your tractor?
How many miles are you averaging per week? Are you getting the miles and hometime you were told to expect? -
I have a friend who used to drive for them, out of Texas. He ran straight up OTR. He ran 11 western with them and he loved it. He quit to run more local. He made good money there, i think he ran about 2800 miles per week average with a lot of drop and hook. I remember most of his drop and hook being a Big Lots account. Their equipment looks great. I notice they run 14 foot high trailers. It was drop and and hook at the DC and live unload at the stores.....if I correctly remember what he told me.
whitelinequeen Thanks this. -
I am one of a few independent contractors that they have at this location to back up their company drivers when they are out sick, on vacation or just short drivers
I pick up the trailers from the DC and deliver to the stores, swap the trailers and then deliver the empties back to the DC.
Some of the trailers are newer than others but I’ve never had a problem with any of the equipment or getting anything fixed. The only problem I had was on two separate trips to Yuma a flat tire, and you just call the one 800 number on your paperwork and they sent someone out to repair it
I do this as a side gig to my regular run of Phoenix to LA, and it works out pretty good because of the container situation in the port. I go to LA every other week and I work for Hogan in between.
I don’t know about legend, but Hogan has a hard time keeping drivers because they hire idiots, which is OK for me because it keeps me busy.Suspect Zero, bryan21384 and whitelinequeen Thank this. -
I was behind 3 Legend trailers last night on the WB 10 in Palm Desert, Ca.
