When I switch to high the check engine light will come on, when I switch to low jakes no check engine light.
on high the engine is braking fine, but the light is unsettling.
any experience?
If the (selinoid?) is bad would the engine brakes still work?
Series 60 14.0 jakes

In your shoes I'd stop by a Clarke Detroit or some similar and get that figured out.
Coffey Thanks this. -
what do you think it could be?

Haven't the slightest clue. These kind of things very seldom have a solution from an internet forum. You need to take it to a good shop so somebody can look at it. Me personally I would go to a Detroit only shop.

Reducing everything, the engine runs fine when switched on, and engine brakes fine when switched on. Check engine light immediately goes off when switch is off or in low jakes. I’m going to assume it’s the solenoids. -
You most likely have a short or open circuit in the engine wiring harness or in one of the Jake solenoids. The reason the light only comes on when you operate them is because thats when they are being given power to work.supergreatguy Thanks this.
