    @squeaky2073....cheer up, Dude!

    It's quite the driver's market out there now....opportunities abound!!!

    As a follow-up to Chinatown's suggestions above--extreme southern Ga, or very northern central Florida, are good relocation options.

    Relatively low cost of living there (compared to many other options), and some good trucking opportunities.

    Check out the following Forum thread, and also post #41 in it, for driving opportunities in that area:

    Moving to Florida. OTR all 48 based out of there. Help | Page 5 | TruckersReport.com Trucking Forum | #1 CDL Truck Driver Message Board (thetruckersreport.com)

    THANK YOU--for your service to our country!!! :headbang: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :headbang: :occasion5:

    Do you have a lot of stuff to move or can you just pack your bags, get in your car and leave NYC.
    Where were you stationed in the Navy?

    HSC-26 helicopter squadron in norfolk, virginia. And no I dont have alot. I have some stuff that might require the 15foot mover van from uhaul. But it might be cheaper to just buy new stuff from walmart. I dont really have much. I will give marten a try see what happens. I just expect everyone to reject me so feels kind of hopeless. I might try looking for a job here for now, in eastern new jersey in the newark area maybe. Could move later. Work here maybe a few years and then move. I live in Staten Island, NY.

    Oh that takes me back to the good days. Except the one up top. That used to be the same color as the one below. It needs a wash and unfortunately I will end up volunteering whether I want to or not.

    Why stop in New Jersey
    Why stop in New Jersey? Get in your vehicle and keep going. Your problem may be the environment you're staying in.
    Keep driving until you're long gone from there.

    Come to Michigan…we do all kinds of overweight and dangerous driving lol. And I can think of a few companies right off the bat who’ll hire you like…now-ish

    Hey man, I can help. Stick with the RR, I'm currently a conductor waiting on my engineer class to start. The RR is hiring like crazy right now, all the Class I's are, heck NS was even offering sign on bonuses from that I heard, along with CN. Intermodal freight is booming from the trucker shortage and a lot more industries are going to rail. I left trucking and ended up at the RR, angry I didn't do it sooner. If you decide to come out west try Union Pacific, they are very veteran friendly and got yards in most places, easy transcon runs too, you'll be a door slammer and don't have to worry about working a yard...and we run 70 out here too :)

    I would love to consider that. But I dont have a resume and dont have any idea how to make one and would need one to apply. Also I have no interview skills and barely made it into CSX the first time. Cant imagine how to do that again. Any ideas?
