I've seen plenty of otherwise great loads that have "no hotshot" in the comments. Most often these are loads to or from a military base. Every broker I've talked to about them just says "customer request" when asked what they're excluding.
Anyone know specifically what they're considering a hotshot and what they're trying to avoid? Is it an equipment issue? Authority? Something else?

You want the "otherwise great loads", you need equipment the customer wants.Another Canadian driver, Tb0n3, bumper Jack and 1 other person Thank this. -
Right, that's what I'm asking. Is it a gooseneck trailer that's the issue? Or the truck?

Very likely a pickup truck is what they don't want. All you can do is ask the broker as it's ultimately the shipper that defines hotshot and no one else.

I think its because of all the new hotshot driver that have no experience with trucking at all. Nor do they know how to negotiate a better rate and just run whatever. This is why the rate is 1.50 or less. Ive pulled a plenty of military loads with a ram 3500 and a 40 foot gooseneck. So it goes back to all the new guys messing it up buy not knowing what they are doing. Hotshot is done for.

Recently? Because every broker I've asked has said it's a customer requirement.
