I was talking to Alan the other day and it seems maybe we have pushed the " read it all " issue a little too much. This is a great forum that I used as well as many others to make up my mind to come to JCT. The post above proves my point. I hope we don't scare people off because we won't answer a question.... Maybe we should look into a FAQ page of some kind.
This is a good company to work for with a lot of good people, so don't forget to come back and answer some of the questions after you get in.
Now the answer...
When you sign a lease that is your truck until you want to pay it off or trade it in. They won't and can't break the lease "just because". It's a contract and all that information is listed in the contract. The only way they can termenate it is if you don't do your job.
On a side note, the rules that must be followed in order to trade up seem to be a little gray so ask as many questions as you can. I will not point fingers or name names, however, some people are having a little trouble and being told 3-5 times "we have no trucks today"....

on Wednesday after class the motel will have a van take you to walmart. The only other option is the QT up the road or a dollar general on the other side of I44.
Javada is the orentation director and any foul language will get her attention. ( to say the least)
better chase thoes bunnies off to make room for the Ben Franklins! -
Thanks for the response Jarbo. I have followed this thread from the begining. I have lots of experience and a good driving record. I am happy with where I am at but, I always have a back-up plan. Trucking has taught me it is always good to have a back-up plan if your current situation changes.
If JCT gets New Trucks it seems to me they would rather have current L/O in those new trucks. That was why I asked if JCT puts any pressure on a L/O to trade-up?
I know LMB has choosen not to trade-up when other have traded up as soon as possible.
I run I-75 in Ohio every week. I see JCT trucks a lot.
Good-Luck to all of you. -
Today was a pretty lazy and boring day. Slept in late. Talked with a JCT driver downstairs today. He is trading up his current International for a Prostar tomorrow I believe. Nice guy too. I got out and walked down to the QT with the Wendy's inside. Not much to do here that I know of. I made a mistake and ordered some delivery from the Rice Bowl Cafe & Delivery. About 1 1/2 hours later it finally got here lol Well, tomorrow is the big 1st day. Looking forward to it.

LOL get all the rest u can. Ur gonna need it
at least u didn't get yelled at for ordering food like someone I know lmao
-
Oh? Did someone order too much food? lol
-
I was told today that all that was available at the yard was Prostar's. And I was also informed to NOT go looking at a truck before it is time. Apparently some have been terminated for doing that. Even heard that a few have gotten into a fist fight over a truck selection.
-
I don't know the whole story so maybe that particular person will reply lol.
Yea truck selection is crazy, you'll see a lot of immature grown ups acting like kids. I mean they told you if the truck doesn't work for you after 90 days. They may consider letting u trade it. I think they could have a better system for selecting trks due to the fact that you'll b paying for it, but hey u can't make everyone happy and if the ppl don't like the way its done they should go somewhere else than or buy ur own trk. Its just stupid that they would get upset or pissed after the procedure has been explained to them. They go oitside and all those words have came out the other ear.
