    Road Wisdom for the day:

Backing a trailer in tight spaces is like sex from a man's point of view; use every inch and go slow.

When you’re having problems with a shipper or receiver. Might be stuck there over the weekend waiting for Monday. Just tell the office you’re going fishing. Works like a charm.
I had a pickup at a plastics/chemical plant. Must have contact to get inside. Contact wouldn’t answer phone all day. No recorder. I tried my usual contact for delivery. Surprised no call back from message? Trucking company that’s supposed to handle all 53 footers didn’t answer or call back. I had nothing! Had given my office info. They said nothing. So... I told the office. If I’m gonna have to wait here all weekend. There are party boats going out in the Gulf here. I’m gonna go fishing. That did it! Little while later. Office called. Got through to my usual contact. He got pickup arranged. Couldn’t believe it. I drove toward the section I usually go. I could see three forklifts with my tanks on them. All going to the warehouse where I usually unload. I was picking up empty tanks. Somebody lit a fire under these people after hours. Got it done!

You should have turned your phone off and gone fishing for the weekend, just to teach them a lesson.

Trucking is a whole lot of hurry up and wait. Sit on enough flying J toilets and it’ll count as you being covid vaxxed. As long as you have your hazards on you can legally park anywhere. I’ll probably think of more later lmao.

Not really road wisdom but more common sense.

don’t light up when your fueling up.

Just witnessed a flat bedder lighting up at the island.
