They are hiring...very slowly, & are picky. I have 1 red light violation from 12/2007, & got denied. So, I am going to werner, & after 6 months reapply. Joh Martin is the recruiter for Modesto. OK guy, but he gets about 100 apps a week, & a phone call every 3-4 minutes (at least the 3 times I went in there that was the norm). He did say he would resend my app, but I am not holding my breath.

I'm hoping it goes well for everyone thinking about Gordon. But something I was told when I first started out has proven to be true. I am sure a lot of you have heard it already. When going from company to company, better this, worse that. They all have their good, they all have their bad. "Nothing changes but the color of the hood"

If it seems that you are unable to find a company that suits you, perhaps, you should consider a differant career path. Life is to short to spend it unhappy with what you do all day.

I actually have a great job. I sort of stumbled in to it though. I am not getting rich, but $800/wk salary is plenty good for me to only have to do one 3-4 day run a week. As far as my comment goes, it's true. There are differences in companies, for the better and for worse. Fact remains, you are still driving the same roads, putting up with the came crap overall. And for the "you should consider a different career path". I appreciate the advice but I'm way a head of you. I finished my private pilot certificate last week, going to start working on instrument and commercial ratings, then work on the CFI ratings. In the mean time I am attending a combo of in class and online classes for an aeronautics degree :D My 3-4 day a week runs make that very possible I might add. Thanks!

When I first started driving back in 97. An old driver told me...........
"every trucking company is going to screw you.........you just have to figure out how they will do it, then be prepared for it" In 12 years of driving, I have heard this said many times since.
