I used to be in a motorcycle club. I had a quiet bike (stock 83 Goldwing) and all of the others had loud pipes. I would ask them why they wanted a bike with loud pipes and they'd give the pat answer, loud pipes saves lives. So, also being the only one who religiously wore a helmet, I'd ask them if they were so concerned about safety, why don't they wear a helmet?
Hey, if you want loud pipes on a bike, fine. Riders seem to think that loud bikes are cool. Whatever, I prefer to be able to save my hearing, but to each their own. But, to claim to do it in the name of safety and turn around and ride without a helmet totally destroys the reasoning. IDK, I always thought it must be some kind of testosterone thing. BTW, never did get an excuse for having loud pipes for safety while not wearing a helmet that made any logical sense.

As to the OP, I can't give any input. I dive a Volvo and it's all one assembly. If one of the lights go out, you gotta replace the whole assembly.

Our first Penske volvo was an intergral bucket with replaceable bulbs with a body shop cost of $750.00 ea.

Then they swiched to a inergral LED 'projector' bucket that runs $1200.00 ea.

our TICO switchers have nice LED headlights, the drivers love 'em.
