So what your saying is you dont mind logging like you do it, but that you dont for financial reasons?
I dont need 24+ hours to run a 650 mile load either, and I do it legal on electronic logs.
Imagine an even playing field. Where the guy who says he can do it is no longer undercut by the guy cheating the system. Think maybe rates and pay will go up?
There seem to be some bugs in some of these other companies e-log systems. Ive been at it for almost a year and havent had a single computer error or problem.

Even the playing field for WHO??? I dont know who you drive for or how you get your loads, but all my loads are brokered, and I have never told them I would haul a load for cheaper than someone else, I call, they tell me what they got, how much it pays, and sometimes I can get them to come up alittle, But I have NEVER, not once went down!! Now when you speak of undercutting, I assume you are talking about a Company moving in on another's contract, and undercutting the rate. Ever heard of a "back haul"?? Its happens alot, and not by people cheating the system, just working it..Your computers will not do a thing for this. Besides, if an operator has to "Cheat the system" to the extreme of cutting rates just to get the work, their not going to be around very long anyway!! And, last but not least, pay and rate increases.....What good is that goin to do you when everything you buy will go up with it...food, fuel, parts, clothes, and every single thing you can think of that is delivered on a truck rises with it..Yep, I think thats called cost of living..And yep, its gonna go up, so what good is your higher rates or pay check gonna do???? Only thing your Computers are beating is Owner operators out of buisness!!!! Exactly what their intended for..To my notion. -

Log it as you drive it! If your not making money, switch carriers!
Drivers and companies who drive illegal will be "history" soon. Its just a matter of time. -

I read an article in a trade magazine about a year ago about the changes in the truck of the future. The person writing the article was a long time expert in the trucking industry. He stated that the trucks will be so complex (emissions, fuel economy), and expensive that the days of the o/o would be numbered. The Walmarting of the truck industry is squeezing the small guy out.

They're already working on a system to run 4 trucks with one driver. Driver in the lead truck with the others slaved to follow. How'd you like 4 times the work with the same pay?
